SELF-EMPOWERMENT SATURDAYS
Awake & Heal’s mission is to provide spiritual events with specific and measurable outcomes that are practical and deliver immediate benefits. We enjoy the ceremonies and general practices as much as anyone, but in our experience, real change requires a more potent format.
On Self Empowerment Saturdays, you will learn to develop life-shaping habits regardless of past struggles. You will achieve emotional mastery based on Tibetan Buddhist teachings, transforming even the strongest emotions into sources of wisdom. You will also directly experience your true nature, allowing you to enjoy the “bliss of knowing oneself”.
Awaken and Heal, with extensive experience in teaching online, one-on-one, and in groups, is bringing this empowerment training to Chiang Mai. Enhance your relationship with yourself, food, exercise, productivity, and emotions while enjoying optional delicious vegan food in the magical surroundings of Away Chiang Mai. While full participation is encouraged, each event can also be attended independently.

8:30 AM - Habit Empowerment
Developing habits is a big challenge for many people, particularly around food, fitness, and productivity. Joe, who has ADHD, struggled with this for years. However, during Joe's 70-pound weight loss journey and while building a successful coaching business and YouTube channel, he uncovered key strategies to help others unlock their empowerment.
In these sessions, you'll learn Joe's techniques for managing food cravings, exercise resistance, and procrastination, one key habit at a time. Joe's ongoing journey means his advice is always relatable and effective.
Enjoy insights, guided meditations, and practical exercises to create an empowered life.
*Optional: 9:30 AM Mindful Plant-Based Buffet Breakfast
We put into practice what we have learned at the best place imaginable, a fantastic buffet.

10:30 AM - Emotional Enlightenment
Explore techniques to boost your happiness and joy. This session introduces mindfulness practices for emotional well-being and self-connection. We will focus on specific or difficult emotions you're experiencing. Sharing details is optional. This internal process turns emotions from foes to friends.
Initially, emotions are seen as harmful. Next, they are viewed as friends with a role, even outdated. Finally, emotions are recognized as enlightened wisdom, becoming a source of power for our spiritual and life journey.
Inspired by Tibetan Buddhist Nun Ani Zamba, Joe dedicates his time to helping others befriend their emotions, transforming lives.
*Optional: 11:30 AM Mindful Movement and *Swim
Similar to a walking meditation but swimming.

12:30 PM - Awakening Assured
This session is an invitation to witness first-hand the transformative power of non-duality principles in everyday life. We encourage participants to question, reflect, and engage deeply with ancient teachings, fostering an environment where enlightenment isn't just a concept, but a lived experience. Through this exploration, you'll gain invaluable insights into how these age-old wisdoms apply to modern challenges, empowering you with the tools to navigate life with greater ease, joy, and profound inner peace.
*Optional: 13:30 PM Plant-Based Sangha Lunch
This is a social event where participants connect and share their insights from the day.

DEDICATED TO ANI ZAMBA


Ani Zamba, a revered spiritual teacher, came to Chiang Mai to teach her series, "Dances With Emotions." On the first day, she asked if anyone had a place for her to stay. Joe immediately offered his home, and she lived and taught there for three transformative months. This journey delved deeply into emotional understanding and healing.
Born in London and deeply immersed in various Buddhist traditions, Ani Zamba dedicated her life to humanitarian work and teaching across the globe. During her time in Chiang Mai, she captivated hearts with her humor, clarity, and scientific approach to the mind's intricacies. Although Ani Zamba has since passed, she inspired many.
When Joe met her, he was deeply immersed in the highest teachings of Dzogchen and Mahamudra. To his surprise, Ani said that most people are not interested in those teachings and just want to learn to make friends with emotions. Inspired by this wisdom, he redesigned his own approach and began teaching "Enlightened Emotions," offering participants an opportunity to find the freedom available to us all in the most simplified way possible.
